…other than a creepy DJ with a penchant for overtly hitting on Paramore singer Hayley Williams, every night on his show.




Luckily, the band had a great time hanging on Faction, and – with a massive security detail prepared to use tazers with the slightest provocation – they even let Cullen touch them long enough to snap this ‘candid’ shot!

X Games 13 (finally)

Sorry these took so long – what a crazy couple of days - X Games 13…straight into a surprise visit from Jake Brown, AKA The Greatest Athlete in the History of the World, plus three more of the biggest names from the skating, live with Jason Ellis.

First up – thanks to ESPN, Faction enjoyed our usual first-class access to all things X.





Meanwhile, our good buddy Mike “Rooftop” Escamilla enjoyed a LOT of attention from ESPN Brasil. Either Mike’s secretly a megastar in South America, or there’s a lady with orange hair that wants a piece of him...bad.



Enjoying his time away from the concrete jungle of midtown Manhattan, Faction DJ Bryan Cullen collected some prized botanical specimens of local SoCal plant life.



And Faction saw a dude rocking a sweet Frazier. Check this out – this man is NOT bald – he Bic’d his dome down on purpose – in an apparent homage to America’s favorite TV psychiatrist.





Then – right after X – and a Rolling Stone Party – Faction hustled back to Hollywood for the in-studio premiere of “The Jason Ellis Show” in Ellis’s sweet new primetime slot – 3-7PM EST (12-4PM PST) – and a who’s who of vert skaters came by to join him.

Right now – Faction has a bonafide piece of skating history – in our studio: The board that Jake Brown rode during his epic slam!



And as if that’s not cool enough, the man himself came by to kick it with Ellismate…




…along with fellow vert skate overlords Danny Way and Pierre Luc Gagnon, plus the Voice of Skateboarding, Double D, Dave Duncan.

HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD!

Kick back… relax… and let me take you behind the red velvet ropes… on a tour of GLAMOROUS HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA!

First stop: The park across the street from the Faction studios, where the stars go to while away the balmy days under the rich canopy of foliage. And behind the vine-covered wall? The very power plant that surely has been used to generate electricity for many of your favorite films. Maybe even Star Wars!



Gawkers come from all over the world to catch a glimpse of their favorite actors, historic landmarks and celebrity homes. Starry-eyed hopefuls journey here with little more than a dream of one day seeing their name up in lights.

And THIS is where they put their cigarettes!



Hey! What did I just step in? You’re probably thinking “soaking wet tranny wig”, right? WRONG! I can only assume that it was blown away from a young starlet as she was whisked down the avenue in her convertible limousine after a night out on the legendary Sunset Strip!



OK... I’m back. I just had to grab an extinguisher and put out a small trash fire.

…And ON WITH THE TOUR!



When a movie star has to be on set, there’s no need to fire up the Rolls Royce… not when all of your transportation needs are provided by the movie company!

Hello? Jeeves? Yes… Take me to the fancy party… AT ONCE!



But it’s not ALL about the glitz of the spotlight here. Many other industries find a corporate-friendly environment in Hollywood. Take this posting for instance….

From what I hear on the bus and at the grocery store, these guys MUST be doing great business…



Ah! This reminds me! With its tropical climate and fertile soil, California is also rich in fresh produce!



Industry is fine... but what of culture? In spite of the false reputation spread by North East naysayers, Hollywood is an artistic melting pot. Gangs of artists, exploding with creativity, adorn the streets with many illegible yet decorative pieces called “tags”.

There’s no signature on this one, but if I had to guess I would say that this particular piece is by famed Eastside minimalist Killa G.



Ahhhh. Finally back to our home base. The Faction Studios outdoor lounging facility.

On one day you may find sports star Jason Ellis relaxing in one of these color-coordinated chairs… The next day… he may be there again!

Once again, the scourge of mild-mannered ASPEN – FACTION has been camped out at the base of BUTTERMILK MOUNTAIN - all weekend long – hanging with the best and the brightest of the WINTER X world.

THE BOUNCING SOULS heal FACTION DJ CULLEN

As you can see, Faction late-night host Bryan Cullen was in a bad way when the Souls dropped by Faction East. In addition to his trademark bad attitude, from the looks of things, Cullen had dysentery or something. Maybe a worm.



Things looked grim until the Souls came by, what with their love for life, infectious sense of humor, and sing-along choruses. Now, Cullen may still be flipping everyone the double-bird (as pictured above), but he's not living on the bowl anymore, thanks to the healing power of rock and roll.

Everybody go by the Bouncing Souls new CD, "The Gold Record." It worked for Cullen. It can work for you.

The LADIES of BODacious MAGAZINE: ‘INKED’ on the JASON ELLIS SHOW

Big ups to MATT VICTOR of HART & HUNTINGTON for coming all the way to HOLLYWOOD from VEGAS on Friday – for a show that featured three of JASON ELLIS’ favorite things: TATTOOS, FOOD, and some BIG and BEAUTIFUL WOMEN.


MATT attempts to sterilize FACTION’S HOLLYWOOD HQ. (No chance.)




FIRST, it’s a HERSHEY KISS on a FOOT.

MIKE V gets JACKED!!

TONY HAWK sent us the pic of fellow skate legend MIKE V. Anything look WRONG to you? Well, for starters, notice how V's ride seems to be FLOATING? That's right - RIMS and WHEELS - mysteriously GONE!

Yup, this is what happens when your leave your pimped-out vehicle on the mean streets of LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA.
